Leica DM ILM

Leica’s DM ILM Inverted compound microscope has been specially designed for metallography and industrial materials inspection.

  • Fit specific applications
  • Choose from six tubes
  • Built-in power supply

The Leica DM ILM inverted compound microscope performs industrial inspection and measurement tasks quickly and efficiently. Designed to handle large samples and objects, you save time when performing serial inspections and tests of large sample quantities. Easy to use, it is a highly efficient and versatile tool, and despite its ability to accommodate samples of all sizes, it has a slender footprint to save space.

Seeing Is Believing

  • High-performance optics for crisp, clear image resolution
  • Plus, choose your contrast in:
    • Incident light
    • Brightfield
    • Polarization contrast
    • Fluorescence

Choices

You can choose from six different tubes or the Ergotube (0° to 35°), built for a relaxed, comfortable microscope to ensure an ergonomically compatible workstation. Pair your tubes with powerful image acquisition and analysis software packages, such as the Leica Application Suite X (LAS X), to fit your application process.

You’ve Got The Power

To save space in your workplace, the DM ILM has a built-in power supply for a 6V/35W halogen lamp which is easy to control. With less clutter of cables, you can easily move the single unit to another table or workstation. Need a different light? The stand has a bayonet mount interchange for externally powered lamp-housings with 12V 100W halogen or Hg 50/100 W and Xe 75 gas discharge lamps.

On request, two lamp housings can also be fitted simultaneously, so for instance, you can have brightfield and fluorescence work. Two permanently integrated positions for filters of 32 mm diameter in the microscope stand, plus an optional intermediate piece for other filters of 50 mm diameter, allow specific illumination optimization for observation and image documentation.

Set the Stage

  • 3 plate mechanical stage for samples of differing shapes and sizes
  • Accept nearly all sample sizes
  • Allows non-destructive microscopic examination of large components
  • Large stage surface accommodates 247 x 230 mm wide and tall components
  • The inner rectangular stage is 150 x 150 mm but can be completely removed
  • Sample samples are placed on the inner insets, which have holes of 80 mm, 40 mm, 30 mm, and 20 mm
  • Optionally available with knobs for removing or rotating the sample

The two-sided, large-stage support on the basic stand bears sample weights of up to 8 kg. The wide adjustment range of 60 x 40 mm in x-y direction allows swift scanning and fast access to the interesting, important parts of the sample.
