The Opto Linea imaging modules are characterized by slim, straight all-aluminum housing.
Depending on the size and your needs, you can choose between the Linea M and its larger variant, Linea XL, which are available in two variants with the larger design. All modules are available in colour and monochrome solutions as USB or GigE variants.
The “Dual Cam” Linea XL has two 5MP cameras and a magnification difference of 4x in varying magnification levels. It also has an integrated 5x LED controller and enables a variety of illumination scenarios.
Depending on the version, the Linea is equipped with different optics and camera technology and can function as either a:
- Compact, digital reflected light microscope
- Quality assurance vision sensor
Linea M for Compact Machine Integration
The Linea imaging module M series is a miniaturized digital microscope in a straight design.
In contrast to the Compact:
- the image fields are larger
- the working distances are longer
- no coaxial illumination is integrated
These modules are ideally suited for machine integration with the following:
- Robust aluminum design with various mounting options
- Optimized image quality due to perfectly matched component selection
- One-cable concept (USB version)

Linea XL (Dual Cam) as zoom replacement
The Linea XL is the flagship of our fully integrated straight digital microscopes.
This imaging module can replace zoom applications with:
- Two integrated 5MP cameras with a magnification difference of 4x (e.g. 5x magnification on one camera and 20x magnification on the other)
- Two live image fields of different magnification levels
- Fixed magnification levels without moving parts, thus no pre- and post-calibration necessary
- Modules are ideally suited for machine integration
- Robust aluminum design with various mounting options
Further features include:
- Up to 5x LED controller for coaxial illumination and segmented ring light
- Available as GigE and USB variants
- Powerful plug & play imaging module, including free control software
Linea M for mobile quality control
The Linea M is perfect for production-related quality control. An imaging module next to each lathe or milling machine enables fast Industry 4.0-relevant image data acquisition on-site and not later in the laboratory. The integrated ring light enables the display of even weakly reflective areas.
With the free OptoViewer 2.0 software, measurements and labels can be added quickly, or videos can be saved. Line marks can also be faded in quite quickly, for example, to carry out object alignments on the live image.
Linea M as a visualization measurement module for microfluidics
As a documentation and quality assurance tool for microfluidic chips, the Linea M is suitable for examining large areas due to its larger image fields of up to 25mm.
The integrated ring light guarantees optimal illumination, and the fully integrated 5MP camera with a Sony IMX264 sensor enables micrometre-precise resolution of even the most minor details.
Watch out for the release of a “Dual Fluorescence” IM with two different fluorescence illumination sources!
