The SBCF large chamber furnace is designed to withstand tough conditions and is particularly suitable for heat treating steels and alloys, sintering ceramics and aerospace heat treatment. It is an industrial-scale furnace that is modular in design, making it highly adaptable to various applications.
The SBCF furnace chamber comes in three different sizes and has a cubic shape. There is a side-hinged door and a fixed hearth, which can be fitted to a bogie for easy removal from the furnace on a track system. This feature also allows for a vertical lift arrangement, creating an elevator hearth, and turning the door into a fixed side of the chamber. The furnace comes equipped with under-hearth heating and free-radiating coiled wire elements on all four sides, providing the option of single and 3-zone temperature control.
An optional air circulation fan can be included for applications requiring the best possible uniformity, such as AMS 2750E. The SBCF furnace construction uses low thermal mass insulation materials to maximize running efficiency while using robust refractory materials in places where physical strength is required, such as the loading area of the hearth. The hearth is fitted with silicon carbide (SiC) tiles to provide a hard-wearing surface.
